　　The first day of school, I am still unhappy because of own University got so bad, do not know how to treat future learning. Also think anything of my psychological. His words let me enlightened .Yes, I should believe in myself.

　　however, the failure of energy, in our eye, seems never disturb her. she is a fountain of vigor, the fountain that never dries up. while strength is usually bound in numbers, hers comes from within. without regular meals, without appropriate sleep, even without sincere love,but all above are not half so important as compared with the steps shes just made. that is absolutely enough.

　　記得上二年級的時候，學(xué)校開辦了英語興趣班。父母一個勁兒地鼓勵我報名，還列舉了許多英語的好處，而我呢，卻是沖著新鮮好奇參加的。想來不是挺難的事，可學(xué)起來還真不容易。老師一進教室就講了一大堆英語單詞，我一句也聽不懂，覺得沒趣，上課便開起了小差，一連幾堂課老師的提問我都答錯了，越學(xué)越?jīng)]勁。最讓我難堪的還是期末考試。英語老師把家長代表請來與學(xué)生當(dāng)面對練問答。我們家來的是高級知識分子—媽媽，英語可棒了！我怕媽媽知道我的底細，心想不舉手混過去，誰知老師偏偏向我提問，我本來就沒學(xué)好，再一緊張，三句話竟答錯了兩句，出了洋相，我的臉“刷”地一下就紅了，甭提多難過了。三年級英語成了正課，經(jīng)歷過一次教訓(xùn)的我，這下可不敢馬虎了。上課認真聽講，積極舉手回答問題，同學(xué)們和老師都說，我兩個耳朵像小白兔似的總是豎著聽。時間一長，漸漸地體會到了學(xué)英語的樂趣。自然精神也來了，學(xué)英語的積極性倍加高漲。

　　每當(dāng)家里電話鈴響，我拿起電話先喊一聲“Hello"。是同學(xué)，就把學(xué)過的單詞以及句子連起來搞一次對話練習(xí)，既是復(fù)習(xí)，又有提高，一舉兩得，真過癮。如果是大人打的電話，那就更好了，不但練習(xí)了對話，還可以在我接不上的時候讓人家教我兩句。當(dāng)然更多的人說不來英語，我就取笑對方，一個勁地說學(xué)過的那幾句英語，直到對方莫名其妙地反應(yīng)過來問：“你爸在不？”我才講中文。由于對方聽不懂，所以爸爸接過電話，聽到的總是對方的表揚：“你女兒真不簡單，還會說英語�！泵慨�(dāng)這時，我心中總是樂滋滋的`，他們哪知我這個才人門的小家伙只懂一點點皮毛。最讓我得意的還是有一次到四川聯(lián)合大學(xué)與大學(xué)生玩耍，他們用英語與我對話，我才說兩句，他們就夸我音讀得準(zhǔn)。我一高興，便搬出了我所有的家底，還用英語向他們提問，三個大學(xué)生連連夸我是個學(xué)英語的好苗子，我更加得意了。一個周末，我興沖沖地走進濱江公園英語角，想跟“老外”對話，誰知站在“老外”身邊，人都傻了，除少數(shù)單詞以外，一句話也聽不懂。這時的我才真正有無地自容的感覺。

If the Houses of Parliament had not been burned down in 1834, the great clock would never have been erected. Big Ben takes its name from Sir Benjamin Hall who was responsible for the making of the clock when the new Houses of Parliament were being built. It is not only of immense size, but is extremely accurate as well. Officials from Greenwich Observatory have the clock checked twice a day. On the B.B.C. you can hear the clock when it is actually striking because microphones are connected to the clock tower. Big Ben has rarely gone wrong. Once, however, it failed to give the correct time.
