Selecting Courses
Recently, people in growing numbers show their concern about selecting courses. In some colleges, students are permitted to pick out their course’s professors freely. The reasons are listed as follows:
In the first place, students can choose the teacher according to their interests, which will be helpful for their future careers. Besides, selecting courses can reduce the rate of students’ absence indirectly for students usually choose their favorite teachers.
As far as I am concerned, every coin has two sides. On the one hand, students may learn the course better, because they may choose the professor they liked. On the other hand, if the professor who is very popular and a great number of students would like to attend his/her course, the classroom must be overcrowded. It will have a bad impact on the class.

一開(kāi)始，爸爸念了很多兒童讀物給我聽(tīng)，聽(tīng)完了故事，我會(huì)重新說(shuō)一次給爸爸聽(tīng)；遇到不懂的`字，爸爸會(huì)耐心為我講解；有了爸爸的幫助，讀書并沒(méi)有我想象中的困難；然后我開(kāi)始自己閱讀進(jìn)階讀物，自己漫游在書海里，一本接著一本，不停的探索新奇的世界。
在這個(gè)過(guò)程中，我遇到一些困難，第一個(gè)困難是聽(tīng)得懂英語(yǔ)卻不知道如何正確拼字，于是，爸爸做了一堆字卡讓我每天練習(xí)，慢慢推敲拼字的規(guī)則，我終于克服了拼字錯(cuò)誤的難關(guān)；其次，我遇到的第二個(gè)困難是中文和英語(yǔ)的字義沒(méi)辦法連結(jié)，我很容易忘記英語(yǔ)單字的中文意思；關(guān)于這點(diǎn)，爸爸說(shuō)：別著急，慢慢來(lái)；只要每天持續(xù)閱讀，在閱讀英語(yǔ)的同時(shí)也不要忽視對(duì)于中文的學(xué)習(xí)，等到中英語(yǔ)的能力都嫻熟了，這個(gè)難題就可以迎刃而解；因此，我按照爸爸的說(shuō)明，每天大量閱讀自己感興趣的中英語(yǔ)書籍，讓閱讀變成一件享受的事。

"Avoid the rush-hours" must be the slogan of large cities the world over. Wherever you go, especiailat week-ends or on holidays, you＇ 11 find that the trains are packed, streets crowded,buses queued, restaurant tables shared. MoreOver,the smallest unforeseeh event like a power-cut, an exceptionally heavy snowfall or rainfall can bring about conditions of utter inconvenience and chaos.
City-dwellers are obliged by their environment to adopt a wholly unnatural way of life. They lose touch with nature and all the simple, good things of life like sunshine and fresh air at a premium. Tall buildings block out the sun. Traffic fumes pollute the atmosphere,The flow of traffic goes on unceasingly and the noise-never stops.
The funny thing about it all in a large modern city is,that you pay dearly for tht "privilege" of living.The demand for accommodation is so great that it is often impossible for ordinary people to buy a house/flat of their own. Furthermore,the cost of living is very high. Just about everything you buy is likely to be more expensive than it would be in the country.
In addition, city-dwellers live under constant threat.The crime rate in most cities is very high. Houses are often burgled.Cities breed crime and violence and are full of places you would be afraid to visit at night. If you think about it, they are not really fit to live in at all. Can anyone really doubt that the country is what man was born for and where he truly belongs?
