　　I am writing this letter to support the admission of Wenli Lee to the Harvard Business School.

　　Furthermore, he did so in a manner that added value to the community.

　　Lee has labored for the ABC Authority, a large public bureaucracy, and currently works as a private marketing and research firm.

　　一般來說，推薦信雖然不會產(chǎn)生十分神奇的作用，但對那些處于錄與不錄邊緣的申請，卻常有意想不到的效果。

　　那么選擇什么樣的人寫推薦信最合適呢?以下有三條原則可供參考：

　　一、 美國商學院最青睞的是那些與申請者有過密切關系，熟悉其領導能力、組織能力或?qū)W術(shù)水平的人寫的。

　　推薦人必須站在客觀的立場上評價你，千萬不要選一個很有名卻對你并不了解的人，因為商學院希望推薦人能提供具體細節(jié)。

　　二、 選擇真正欣賞你的人，只有這樣的人才會愿意花時間和精力為你寫出一封好信。

　　如果寫得潦草倉促或是充滿了敷衍套話，將使錄取委員會對你的印象大打折扣。

　　三、 選擇能夠說明你的關鍵品質(zhì)和獨特個性的人。

　　他最好能就你的管理才能、智力水平、為人處事等某一方面做深入闡述，寫出一封充滿申請者獨特個性的推薦信。

　　你應該在計劃遞交申請材料的期限前三個月左右開始尋找推薦人。

　　選好推薦人后，接下來要做的就是和他(她)坦誠地面談一次，向他(她)解釋清楚你需要什么樣的幫助。

　　告訴他(她)你想申請哪些學校，為什么選擇那些學校。

　　最好能向推薦人提供一份你的完整詳細的簡歷，以方便寫推薦信。

　　如果你認為推薦者應就某幾個方面作一下重點描述，應該提前準備一份書面材料，列舉那些你認為你的推薦人可以著手的地方。

　　很多人都曲解了推薦信，申請者對推薦信的認知存在很大的盲點。

　　既然不能看推薦信的內(nèi)容，申請者對待推薦信的態(tài)度往往是“眼不見，心不煩”，把推薦信表格發(fā)給推薦人之后就聽之任之。

　　推薦信因此成為申請者無法預知的“黑洞”。

　　MBA申請者認為，反正也不能左右推薦信的內(nèi)容，索性不在這上面花時間。

　　而結(jié)果往往是推薦人寫的推薦信平平，無法起到推薦作用。

　　專家說，其實只要多花一些心思，事先同推薦人“合謀”一下，這個問題是可以避免的。

　　百森商學院有個MBA的學生Kyle

　　Judah，在讀研究生二年級，他就是一個例子。

　　他說，“當時申請MBA的時候，我甚至都不知道這封以我名義發(fā)出的推薦信是怎樣寫我的。”Kyle

　　他說：“為構(gòu)思文書你絞盡腦汁，為做出漂亮的項目能申請MBA你連續(xù)幾個小時辛苦學習。

　　這些付出可能都會功虧一簣，毀于失敗的推薦信。

　　所以當你把自己的命運交付他人手中時，你怎能不小心翼翼?”

　　當Judah集合起所有的申請資料，稱之為“我的作品集”時，他讓推薦人一同看了他的文書，看了他做的項目的信息。

　　他這樣做的是目的是“推薦人看了我選擇了哪些來寫，我希望他們寫的推薦信能符合我的基調(diào)，能表達我想展示的信息。”

　　MBA推薦信應怎樣寫，要忌諱哪些?

　　1.忌炫耀頭銜：MBA申請者有時候會犯這樣的錯誤，他們往往以為顯示推薦人的職位頭銜以及推薦人同商學院的關系有利于自己的申請，認為頭銜及關系比推薦人對自己的了解和對自己能力的推薦重要。

　　錯!當商學院說MBA申請者的推薦信找以前的直接上司來寫時，它希望你按照要求去做。

　　因為直接上司(可能不是名人，不是第一老板)比名人對你的為人、能力更了解。

　　2.表揚要具體到事件：MBA申請者和推薦人有個壞習慣——把推薦信看成“形式主義”，以為商學院“只想要關于能力、夢想、決心之類的空話套話”。

　　事實上，商學院招生官想看到的是“真實的，站得住腳的案例，這些案例能更好的展示推薦人想表揚的申請者的能力。”

　　3.這是推薦信，不是業(yè)績考核：申請者同樣需要警惕的是，很多推薦人誤以為推薦信的寫法和評論表一樣。

　　于是對申請者的評價往往“過于客觀，缺乏贊譽”。

　　4.不要自己代寫：現(xiàn)在自己代寫推薦信很流行，很多申請者為了省事，往往自己速成推薦信，然后找推薦人簽字。

　　這樣當然不可取。

　　自己代寫推薦信的結(jié)果通常是跟糟糕的。

　　對于沒有時間寫推薦信或者你感覺文筆不夠出彩的推薦人，你可以先問一下推薦人對自己的評價，然后自己寫一份初稿，發(fā)給推薦人修改。

　　這樣做的好處是，第一，避免了誠信問題，第二，你對發(fā)出去的推薦信內(nèi)容是有譜的。

　　不會稀里糊涂就被葬送了前程。

　　對于推薦信，MBA申請者最好提前和推薦人策劃一下，給推薦人提供一些曾做過的的能展示自己強項的具體案例(項目)。

　　有例子可循，推薦人寫給招生官的推薦信就能將申請者的領導力表現(xiàn)得“有血有肉”，而非干巴巴的“他是一個好領導”。
